Hummingbird Banding Event
at River Lake Inn

On Tuesday, July 26th, River Lake Inn hosted a special hummingbird banding event conducted as part of an ongoing research project by federally licensed bird banders.  That Tuesday morning 27 new (previously unbanded) hummingbirds were banded (13 female, 14 male); 13 were recaptures (9 female and 4 male).  The breakdown of the recaps are 4 were banded this June (at River Lake Inn), 8 are returns from 2010 and 1 was a return from 2008.
